UH C.O.P. Tour

UH Manoa Field Trip
February 11, 2013

Students from Pihana Na Mamo went to UH to learn about some of the programs offered.  We got the chance to visit the Center for Hawaiian Studies,  Nursing Simulation, Communications/Journalism, and Athletics. 

We started our tour at the Kamakauokalani Center for Hawaiian Studies

Upcoming Field Trip

We are going on a field trip to Honolulu Community College on Friday, November 9, 2012.  We will be exploring the campus and taking a tour.  We will also get the opportunity to visit various programs on and off campus.  Come see Mr. Ching in E101 or Mrs. Hue in E103 to get your permission forms.

KCC Health Education Fair


On October 16, 2012 students from our Pihana Na Mamo program went to Kapiolani Community College to learn about the Health Education programs.  We talked to students and instructors about the courses and hands-on learning opportunities.

We visited the Native Hawaiian Center.  At the "Malama Center", they provide support to Native Hawaiian students and students taking Hawaiian/Pacific Island courses.
We played ulu maika with students from Castle High School.

In the Occupation Therapy Exhibit, they showed us the types of activities that are used.
Kainalu showed us how to do a squat properly.

 In the lab testing exhibit, we learned more than we needed about urine testing.

Other programs participated in the fair to educate students on their health.
Alexa visited the Blood Bank tent.
Hiapo learned how much tar is in 5 packs of cigarettes.
